Freeze damage on many of our Athens citrus tree occurs when the moisture or water freezes. The water will freeze causing the fruit, leaves and wood cell membranes to basically rupture. Citrus trees do not have a way to protect themselves against the freezing temperatures like many of the other trees. For example deciduous trees shed their leaves in the fall and enter a dormant state. Unlike the deciduous tree the citrus tree will continue to grow year around.
Choose Houseman’s Tree & Shrub Program to give your trees the best chance of surviving a freeze.
